1. Maintain Connections - This is the best time to be fostering your relationships. Now more than ever, your clients may have some time on their hands, and staying connected is crucial. Check-in via e-mail, make a phone call, send a text, follow on social media – whatever it may be, stay connected with your client base.

2. Be Optimistic - Having a positive attitude can make a world of difference. Focusing on what you can control helps shift your mindset to restore self-confidence and positivity. An upbeat & optimistic perspective spills over into your business and can be a driving factor to closing a deal during this time.

3. Virtual Events - Everyone has gone virtual! Take advantage of that. Host a meeting, a walk-through, dive into paperwork, etc. Just because you may not be physically seeing clients and colleagues in person, does not mean it cannot be business as usual. Zoom, Go-to-Meeting, Skype, Facebook – there are numerous options for going virtual with your clients & team.

4. Be Creative - Being creative will set you apart – especially during a pandemic! From virtual happy hours or team dinners to an online closing celebration, being innovative while getting things checked off your laundry list of items will help all parties push through these tough times with some fun – and hopefully, a few laughs.

5. Send a Note - Sending a handwritten note seems to be a thing of the past – but it is admired by many. Taking the time to write out a ‘hello’ and a ‘thank you’ takes much more thought than sending an e-mail. Although e-mail is one of the go-to forms of communication nowadays, there is something to be said for a handwritten card.
